Texas Nursing and Healthcare Schools
It is projected that the nursing shortage looming in the country will worsen over the next several years as the demands for health care rise. The State of Texas is in the forefront to ensure the impact of the nursing shortage is minimal. The State has come up with a strategic plan that will operationalize all the actions intended and needed by the State to meet this vast challenge. First and foremost, the State has been able to identify sources of funding- local, private, state and federal which has been joined to the strategic plan to see to it that there is maximum return on investment.
Rest assured that Texas is doing everything under its capacity to curb this overwhelming challenge. To begin with, the State of Texas acknowledges the fact that nursing schools in the area face major barriers in increasing the capacity and productivity of competent graduates. The schools also face a real challenge of being able to revise the curricula and teaching approaches to match clinical practices of the 21st century. In light of this, the State's main agenda is to;
- Foster inventive public-private partnerships
- Develop new educational modalities such as simulation centers
- Obtain financial aid that will be able to conscript and keep additional faculty and students
- Obtain additional clinical instruction sites
Regionalization is another thing that the State of Texas is focusing on to be a core mechanism which ensures expanded capacity while at the same time maintaining local control and maximum limited resources. The aim is that of creating new innovations and effectiveness through developing regional academic partnerships.
Regionalization engages all existing institutions of learning in the State to work together towards creating innovation systems that will address the nursing shortage. The systems are aimed at utilizing and leveraging human resources and regional assets to address the issue.
On the same note, it is believed that shortage of qualified faculty in institutions of learning is a major hindrance to the revision of the curriculum. The State is now recruiting teachers who are competent enough to work towards the common regional goal of implementing 21st century teaching programs in institutions.
Nursing schools are often challenged to foster accountability and growth and most importantly leverage new partnerships with the major health care consumers in the Texas health care family that supports the growth and expansion of the nursing workforce.
The one thing Texas wants is to have equal salary fields comparative to other states. This will allow graduates who reside in Texas to remain in the state and work within the healthcare industry. The State is focused on maintaining a salary scheme that will equal that of other States. You are sure to find a salary that will meet your needs.
