Oklahoma Nursing and Healthcare Schools

Research shows that health care jobs, and in particular nursing are among the nation’s fastest growing job market. Oklahoma’s Board of nursing and stakeholders in the healthcare field work towards addressing issues that is pertinent in improving the general health of the State alongside great working environment for staffs. This they do by:

• Increasing the job satisfaction and retention rates of the current health care providers.
• Ensuring that current education and training systems possess the necessary resources and support to be able to provide the number of competent health care providers required in the State.
• Creating awareness among the State’s young people and adults on the great opportunities available in the health care field hence tremendously increasing the number of individuals wishing to pursue a health career.

There are recommendations and programs in place also to lessen the acute shortage. Oklahoma is working towards implementing a tuition program, and fee coverage scholarship programs. The State also proposes to provide a living stipend to interested providers who would want to pursue further education. This stipend functions by allowing a substantial cut down on work or no work at all, to allow for full time education advancement.
