LPN to RN Degrees

Idaho Nursing and Healthcare Schools

Severe shortages of health care professionals exist throughout all of Idaho. Because 2/3rds of Idaho's land is federally owned, that accounts for 88% of the state that is reserved for Idaho's beautiful terrain. Scenic lakes in the north and the mountainous wilderness in the central part of Idaho as well as the open range in the southern part of the state; this accounts for most of Idaho's counties being in rural areas. These areas are often serviced by one main health care provider per county. A RN or other health care worker must attend to the needs of the whole area. The geography, distance and weather conditions prevent access to many health care facilities. 36 out of 44 Idaho counties are Rural Areas. There are 37 designated shortages areas most of theses being out in the rural frontier areas.

Great Educational and Advancement Opportunities Await You In Idaho!

Idaho is regulating nursing practices and other health care fields in education for the purpose of safeguarding the public health, safety, and welfare of our population and health care workers. Idaho has received funding from the Department of Health and Human Services to address these shortage issues. These funds are being used to improve access to quality health care facilities for those in rural areas. Our goals are to increase the workforce in health care fields by training and hiring new health care professionals to fill the many vacancies and preserve existing health care workers through professional support programs.

These programs allow for quick quality training and allow for advancement opportunities to all those who choose to work in Idaho's health care Industry. These programs address issues that make the working environment more rewarding and benefit the health care workers. Idaho offers educational programs in complimentary continuing education as well as a program known as upgrading education. This upgrading education allows you to continue your career training while remaining in your current position. Nurse Aids advance to LPN. LPN advance to RN and this upgrading program is available to all health care professionals practicing in any field.
