LPN to RN Online Programs Gaining Notoriety

Amidst the growing amount of degree programs in online colleges, bridge programs have slowly increased in popularity as well, giving students the option to pursue higher levels in the health care industry without enrolling in an entirely new program.  LPN to RN and paramedic to RN programs are some of the more popular programs, as they feature students who have already had health care experience without the degree of a registered nurse.  Online colleges have seen the ease with which students can earn these degrees and have therefore implemented these bridge programs into their course offerings, allowing students to save time and money in becoming a registered nurse.

LPN to RN online programs allow students to take classes online and still earn their residency at a nearby college.  This is especially beneficial for students who continue their job while earning the registered nurse license; it allows them the flexibility to take classes when they have time and continue with their regular life while advancing at the same time.  This type of degree program has become vital to many working parents who do not have the time to take traditional college classes or students who are too busy and too far away from a traditional college campus.  Online bridge programs help smooth the transition and help students reach their career goals.  RNs make at least $10,000 more a year in salary and are allowed more freedom in assessing patient care.  While LPNs are important to the nursing  community, in order to move up in rank, you will need to earn a registered nurse license.

Many students enroll in LPN programs in order to determine whether they enjoy the prospect of the health care industry.  After several years, these bridge programs allow students to simply take a few courses that will qualify them for the registered nurse position, rather than start from scratch and become a registered nurse 2-3 years later.  These programs help foster the economic boom of nurses and furthermore assist many hospitals in keeping staff as LPNs while they earn RN degrees.  Before these programs, hospitals and clinics would lose staff every year as they were unable to continue their shifts while pursuing an RN degree; as a result, many LPNs would simply stay in their current position rather than risk the loss of their paycheck and position in the hospital.

LPN to RN bridge programs have become a vital necessity in the health care world, and with the increase in online education programs, it is guaranteed that they will only continue to rise in popularity.
