Alaska Nursing and Healthcare Schools
Professional Health Care related employment positions exist in all regions of the state of Alaska. Physicians, nurses, and other specialists provide primary analysis, diagnosis and other health care treatments to our community.
The majority of our population here in Alaska reside in rural areas influencing emphasis on providing quality health care programs that reach out to residents outside of city limits. Alaska has a unique system of local medical providers and programs to assist patients until they can get in to see a physician.
Community health aids and practitioners, also known as CHA/P is a distinctive program of dedicated, qualified individuals who work to provide health care to those who live in these rural areas. The CHA/P is an important rural Alaskan profession of trained health care providers who work under the supervision of a referral physician.
Nurse Practitioners work independently in consultation with physicians , and can provide direct patient care, medical services, diagnose illnesses, recommend procedures and prescribe prescription medications. Physician assistants do not work independently as they must work under a Doctor or Registered Nurse.
Various levels of education and training are required to meet and fill these many positions. Alaska's Health care Industry will continue to generate job opportunities. Salaries are expected to increase and are currently above average at this time. Here are just some other fields of health care that the state of Alaska is anxious to fill with trained professionals.
